Well, it’s official, America will finally get a glimpse of Chelsea Clinton. On Monday, NBC news announced that they hired the famously private former first daughter to serve as a full-time special correspondent for the network. Clinton will be working on NBC’s “Making a Difference” series, which runs during the NBC Nightly News, according to the New York Times report.
Clinton, who eschewed the media throughout her youth, first stepped into the public spotlight during her mother’s run for the presidency in 2008. (And even then, wouldn’t do interviews). In recent months, she’s made several public appearances, including one in Washington, where she spoke glowingly about the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s artistic director Michael Kahn.
With the Clinton hire, NBC has nabbed yet another prominent political daughter. First, “The Today Show” hired Jenna Bush Hager and more recently Meghan McCain was reported to have joined MSNBC as a contributor. Clinton’s new gig starts immediately.
