Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) is putting Georgia’s longtime Democratic Jewish voters in a spot this November that some once thought would be virtually unthinkable: whether to support the Peach State’s first Jewish senator for a second term in one of the country’s most competitive races.

Ossoff’s mixed record on Israel, which includes votes for and against U.S. military aid, has stirred fierce criticism from Jewish donors and political leaders in Georgia. They say his legislative decisions in Washington are undermining his pro-Israel rhetoric amid heightened divisions and antisemitism in the Democratic Party.
