Thiessen Corrects Amanpour

Published

Marc Thiessen, whose book Courting Disaster comes out this week, confronted CNN’s chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour about her misleading reporting on interrogation techniques used to extract information from suspected terrorists at Guantanamo.

Thiessen stunned Amanpour by quoting her 2008 report from Khmer Rouge’s S-21 prison, when she showed a picture of an innocent Cambodian being drowned and said that the same thing was happening at Gitmo. Amanpour insisted that there was no difference between what she had described and what the CIA did.  “Dipping people’s heads in water to simulate drowning.  Period.  End of story.”
