If you’re not watching, get to a TV because Phil Mickelson is on his way to a round for the ages in the U.S. Open. Could this be Lefty’s version of what Tiger Woods did on the back nine in the third round at Torrey Pines?
In 2008, Woods’ charge made for spectacular viewing after the sun went down in the east. Same for tonight as Mickelson will probably complete his round at approximately 9 – 9:30 p.m.
Mickelson is 5-under through eight holes in the second round and has pulled to within two strokes of leader Graeme McDowell. Stay tuned.
