Chiefs Boss Gets a Shout-Out

On the Hunt

On Monday, the House scheduled a voice vote “recognizing the life of [owner] Lamar Hunt and his outstanding contributions to the Kansas City Chiefs, the National Football League and the United States.”

Kansas City Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleaver sponsored the bill.

Turns out he got $1,000 from Hunt during his first run for Congress in 2004. But Hunt’s giving was a bit more ecumenical than that. He gave $10,000 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee in 2002, and had contributed to Republican Sens. Kit Bond of Missouri and Mike DeWine of Ohio.
