Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is set to meet with three of the Republicans still in the race for the GOP nomination ahead of the Florida primary on Tuesday, weeks after ending his disappointing presidential bid.
An aide confirmed to the Washington Examiner that Bush will meet with Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich prior to Tuesday’s primary, but not Donald Trump, who Bush had butted heads with consistently throughout the 2016 race.
While it’s not clear what they’ll talk about, all of the candidates have been openly talking about ways to winnow down the field in order to ensure one candidate can run more effectively against Trump.
As first reported by The New York Times, Bush will meet with Rubio today, and will meet with Cruz and Kasich on Thursday, the same day as the final Republican debate before the Florida primary.
