A 2-year-old Silver Spring boy was abducted by his mother’s boyfriend Thursday, a situation that ended rather quickly when the kidnapper turned himself in after an Amber Alert was issued, according to authorities.

Montgomery County Police spokeswoman Melanie Hadley said that, as of Thursday afternoon, kidnapping charges were pending against Anderes J. Martinez, 28, the man who reportedly made off with his girlfriend’s son earlier in the day.
