Williams and German were reported missing on Feb. 13, 2017, with their bodies being found the next day on the Delphi Historic Trail. The charges are the first major developments in the case since a sketch and video clip of the suspect were released by police in 2019.
Authorities did not give details on the evidence that led them to arrest and charge Allen, citing a court order sealing the probable cause affidavit.
“The time will come when additional details can be released,” Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter said at the Monday press conference.

Indiana Police stressed Allen is innocent until proven guilty and that if the public still has tips related to the murders, they should reach out to authorities.
