Warriors’ owner after embarrassing loss: “Looked like the Millennials tonight”

The Phoenix Suns are not having the best season. And, while he did take some blame, Suns owner Robert Starver also put it on the “millennial culture.” So, can the same be said for the Golden Gate Warriors’ loss on Sunday? Owner Steve Kerr thinks so, sort of.

As Fox Sports reported, Kerr “blames loss to Lakers on Millennials’ lack of focus.” The 112-95 loss against was considered an upset, to which Kerr blamed on “zero attention span.” On how they “couldn’t focus,” he also said they “looked like the Millennials tonight.”

The line is reminiscent of a sort of running joke between Kerr and player Stephen Curry. Like a true millennial, Curry will sometimes ask if he can use his phone.

As mentioned in the SF Gate:

“I joke with Steph all the time: ‘We’re Millennials.’ This team is filled with Millennials, and Millennials can’t focus,” Kerr said: “… Sometimes he jokingly asks me if he can send a text or a tweet during the game.”

Curry said: “Guilty as charged.”

Sunday just goes to show that even when they’re basketball super stars, millennials can sometimes have their moments.
