Comedian and “Chelsea Lately” host Chelsea Handler this week joined the growing list of celebrities who have entered the political fray, on the heels of President Obama‘s pro-gay marriage position change. On Tuesday, the D.C.-based LGBT group Human Rights Campaign sent out a fundraising plea to supporters penned by Handler. In the letter, entitled, “Argh,” the Vodka loving E! host pledged to match all HRC donations that come in within the next 24 hours with one of her own, up to $50,000.
“Hey, I know it’s hard — sometimes the burden of discrimination makes me want to get up on a soapbox, and other times it just makes me want to get a cocktail,” Handler wrote. “But if you’ve been waiting for the right time to donate, I think we can all agree this is it.”
