Baltimore man killed in Hanover

County police are asking for information from the public after they identified the man who was shot and killed in his pickup in Hanover.

“Right now, we?re just looking for anybody with information on what happened, because right now we don?t have any leads,” said Cpl. Mark Shawkey, police spokesman, on Friday.

Derrin Davon Thomas, 27, of Baltimore City, was discovered by officers around 8:30 a.m. Thursday with several gunshot wounds in the 7700 block of  Rotherham Drive, police said.

Paramedics confirmed Thomas? death when they arrived at the scene.

The residence where the pickup was parked had been struck with “two apparent projectiles as the gunfire erupted,” according to the police report.

A silver or gold recent-model four-door vehicle had backed into the driveway prior to the shooting, police said. Police added that the car was possibly a BMW, Volkswagen Passat or a Nissan Altima.

Police said a male suspect, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and about 180 pounds was seen walking away from the pickup after the shooting started.

“As we?ve done before, Metro Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000,” said Shawkey.”
