Anne Arundel Sheriff’s Department cleared 16 open warrants as a result of a warrant sweep Saturday and Sunday.
Officials issue about 1,000 new warrants each month and now plan to do the sweeps more frequently.
Authorities made 11 arrests after attempting to close more than 100 open warrants in the Glen Burnie area, said spokesman Deputy Sheriff Harry Neisser on Monday.
The arrests mainly were for probation violation or driving with a suspended license, and the suspects were considered “no more [dangerous] than usual,” Neisser said.
A similar one-day weekend sweep in June led to 30 arrests, serving 37 warrants.
