Video shows DC officer pick up, carry, and toss protester amid rally violence

A video out of Washington, D.C., shows an officer picking up and carrying a protester amid the violence that broke out in the city when counterprotesters converged after a pro-Trump rally.

“In one of the craziest scenes I saw tonight a ranking #mpd officer picked up, walked with, and then threw like a rag doll onto the pavement after having words with another officer,” a Twitter user said, posting a video of the scene.

The video has since spread, with conservative pundits describing the protester as an antifa member, and has garnered nearly half a million views as of Sunday.

Violence broke out in D.C. following the “Stop the Steal” rally on Saturday, where thousands of Trump supporters congregated on the nation’s capital in support of the president’s legal efforts regarding the election.

Video from Saturday shows antifa and Proud Boys members facing off, leaving at least four people stabbed and 23 people arrested. Other Trump supporters were also seen being maced by counterprotesters and reported Black Lives Matter protesters were also seen shooting fireworks at Proud Boys members.

The D.C. Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
