Alexandria BB&T robbed by two armed men

Two men, one of them armed with a handgun, robbed an Alexandria BB&T bank, taking cash from a teller and the vault before fleeing in a dark green sedan, authorities said.

The men walked into the BB&T branch at 4999 Seminary Road at about 11 a.m. Friday, police said. One of them showed a handgun as he and the other man approached a teller and demanded cash. The teller handed over the cash and the two also gained access to a vault. They made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

One suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a stocky build. The second was a black male, about 6 feet 1 inch tall with a thin build. Both were wearing greenish pants, gray hooded sweat shirts and black ski masks.

Authorities want to catch the duo before they become more aggressive.
