Man hit by Metro train dies

A 39-year-old man who tried to kill himself by jumping in front of a train at Clarendon station last week died on Tuesday morning, according to Metro. The McLean resident had been hospitalized in intensive care since last Tuesday, when he was pulled from underneath a rail car with head trauma and multiple broken bones. His name was not released. He was the sixth person to use a Metro train to commit suicide in 2011. At least one other person survived. — Kytja Weir
