We’ve all heard stories about politicians like Bill Clinton and John Edwards getting expensive haircuts to keep up their image, but there are at least two figures on Capital Hill saving their pennies by trimming their own locks – Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Rep. Allen West, R-Fla. While Paul’s staff has confirmed that he cuts his own hair out of necessity and a lack of time, he still gets a professional trim every once in a while. And while Rep. West has put his own clippers to work for “most of his life,” according to an aide, he credits his self-styling to 20 years of active service in the Army — where they don’t usually have Hollywood stylists on staff.
