A Maryland state corrections officer suspected of killing his wife and wounding his stepson on Friday was found dead in his car Sunday evening in upstate New York .
Donald Webb Jr., 48, was discovered in Jefferson County, N.Y. near Watertown dead from an apparently self-inflicted gun shot wound.
Baltimore police spokesman Sterling Clifford said Webb?s body was found in his truck just off Route 81 by New York State troopers. A warrant had been issued for his arrest.
Webb allegedly shot his 42-year-old wife Cynthia and his 13-year-old stepson Friday evening in their room home on the 900 block of Lombard Street in Baltimore. He disappeared, setting off a manhunt.
The stepson is being treated for serious injuries at Johns Hopkins Hospital and is expected to survive. Cynthia Webb had three other sons.
Webb was a 17-year veteran corrections officer employed by the Maryland State Department of Public Safety. His last posting was the Baltimore City Correction Center where he was a shift supervisor.
