Two people are dead and eight others were injured after a shooting at a bar in South Carolina.
Police are still searching for the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting, which occurred at around 2:45 a.m. Saturday at the Old Skool Sports Bar & Grill in Lancaster. Two men were shot and killed, four victims were airlifted to a hospital for treatment, and four others were treated locally for noncritical injuries, according to the Associated Press.
The deceased were identified Saturday as Henry Lee Colvin, 39, and 38-year-old Aaron Harris, both of from South Carolina.
Authorities are not sure if more than one person fired a gun during the incident. Investigators said they have information about a person of interest, but there have been no arrests following the violence in the town with a population of about 8,500.
“This was a violent incident of huge magnitude that was witnessed by lots of people,” said Sheriff Barry Faile in a statement. “Two people are dead, and many more are seriously injured. The shooter or shooters are out there.”
Speaking at a news conference Saturday, Faile said police believe the shooter was one person targeting another and said that the apparent shooter had been having a months-long disagreement with one of the individuals who was fatally shot.
“We need to talk with everybody who was at the club when the shooting happened, and I encourage those witnesses to contact us immediately so those responsible for these deaths and injuries can be taken into custody,” he added.
