The Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds are set to face off Thursday night in Major League Baseball’s second Field of Dreams Game in Dyersville, Iowa.
Thursday’s contest is the second tribute game inspired by the 1989 sports film Field of Dreams, which follows the story of a farmer who builds a baseball field in his cornfields that attracts the ghosts of baseball legends.

The game, taking place at a ballpark surrounded by cornfields and adjacent to the movie’s filming location, will have a pre-game ceremony nostalgic of its movie inspiration starting at 6 p.m. EDT. The first pitch will be thrown at 7:15 p.m. on Fox.

Both teams will be wearing special uniforms. Cincinnati will have uniforms that pay tribute to their 1919 World Series, and Chicago will have one for their National League pennant-winning 1929 season.
The first game was set to take place in 2020, but it was pushed back to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2021 game featured a face-off between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox.
Nearly 8,000 people filled the stadium to attend the inaugural competition, complete with the movie’s star, Kevin Costner, walking out ahead of the teams with a baseball in hand, replicating scenes out of the movie.
