Report: Trump to hire up to 150 staffers

Donald Trump will add at least 100 new staffers to his campaign over the next month, said the candidate’s former campaign manager Tuesday night.

Corey Lewandowski, who was fired from Trump’s campaign Monday, told a private gathering at the Empire Club in New York City that the presumptive Republican nominee planned to hire between 100 and 150 new staff members in the next 30 days, according to a Buzzfeed report. Lewandowski, who appeared at the event with current Trump employees, including press secretary Hope Hicks, was invited to attend before he was let go by the campaign.

The news follows a campaign announcement earlier in the day that Trump hired four people to fill top campaign positions.

Trump, whose campaign is staffed by just over 70 people and whose poll numbers against presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton have begun to tank in recent weeks, indicated Monday evening that he was planning a major overhaul.

“It’s time for a different type of campaign,” he told Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly.
