ORLANDO, Florida — South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem asserted that special counsel John Durham has proved former President Donald Trump right.
“If you haven’t read up on the special counsel probe of the FBI investigation into President Trump’s campaign, here is the Cliff Notes version: President Trump was right. The Clintons spied on him,” Noem said during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday.
“They paid a British spy to spy on the president, and then, they paid a tech executive to spy on the president. And we’re learning more and more all the time about how they abuse our government and tried to take down President Trump,” she continued.

Durham was appointed by former Attorney General William Barr to probe the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation.
A recent court filing by Durham alleged that Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann had another client, a technology executive thought to be former Neustar senior vice president Rodney Joffe, who gathered information on internet traffic from Trump Tower, Trump’s New York City apartment building, and the Executive Office of the President.
Noem also referenced British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s discredited dossier on Trump, which the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee helped pay for.
“Now, every sane American across this country is quietly thinking to themselves: ‘If they can do that to the president of the United States, they can do that to me and to my family,’” Noem said.

“Think cancel culture is bad right now? Wait until they force financial institutions into freezing your account because of something you said on Facebook,” Noem said.
