Michelle Obama to tackle obesity through hip hop album

First Lady Michelle Obama is linking up with the hip hop community to create a hip hop album as part of her “Let’s Move” campaign. The album, which will include 19 songs and 10 music videos, is being created in conjunction with Hip Hop Public Health and Partnership for a Healthier America, according to MTV News.

Let’s Move executive director and White House assistant chef Sam Kass chatted with MTV about the project, explaining that because so many kids listen to hip hop why not “give these messages to kids in a way that’s not preachy,” Kass told MTV.

The album will reportedly drop on Sept. 30. And for songs have a veggie-friendly theme. They include “U R What You Eat,” “Veggie Luv” and “We Like Vegetables.”
