A major armament company, building on President Trump’s promise to reduce sales-choking regulations on weaponry, is throwing a Trump-inspired “YUUUUGE” promotion to sell silencers.
“YUUUUGE savings with the ‘Make Silencers Great Again’ Promotion!” cheers Griffin Armament in its new sale. The company shows an image of noise suppressor and two $100 bills decorated with Trump’s face. They call the coupons for a $200 discount “Trump Bucks.”

The promotion comes as the industry is seeing sales tail off a bit from the end of 2016, when sales surged amid concerns that Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton, a gun control advocate, would win.
Industry officials, however, believe that the sale of silencers could boost it again once the administration makes good on its promise to cut the wait time and $200 tax.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the industry voice, said that gun stores are banking on a sales boom in silencers, now difficult and costly to legally buy.
“Looking ahead, the new administration will make the shooting sports safer and far more noise friendly. As it becomes more affordable with less red tape, our customers will respond in droves,” Jeanelle Westrom, who owns Davenport Guns in Iowa, said in an NSSF report.
“Our goal is to build steady growth of loyal customers. By developing new strategies to engage shooters, you will keep your store profitable long after the political storm has passed. Shooters who love our sport are a joy to sell to, and they will always endure far beyond the next bubble,” she said.

The website Jerking the Trigger, which follows developments in weaponry, said that Griffin and other industry leaders believe it will be awhile before Congress approves the Hearing Protection Act, which will ease the purchasing of silencers. And that is why it is running the Trump Bucks promotion.
