…The defense will be further crippled this weekend, though it helps that Jacksonville star running back Maurice Jones-Drew is doubtful because of a knee injury. Still, the Redskins will be minus linebacker Brian Orakpo (groin/hamstring), defensive end Kedric Golston (groin) and safety Reed Doughty (concussion).
Safety Kareem Moore (knee) is a game-time decision. If he and Doughty can’t play, the Redskins will have two converted corners playing safety in Kevin Barnes and Macho Harris.
If Moore does play, he likely would move to strong safety and Barnes likely would start at free, which is how they were used in the second half of the 33-30 loss to Dallas.
Also, returner Brandon Banks (knee) will be a game-time decision.
…Rob Jackson will make his first career start in place of Orakpo. Jackson spent the first 14 games on the practice squad. He was drafted in the seventh round in 2008 as a defensive end, but was converted to linebacker last offseason when the Redskins switched to a 3-4.
“You get your opportunity and if you don’t take advantage of it, you may not get another opportunity,” Jackson said. “It could make or break me.”
…For Jacksonville, in addition to Jones-Drew, LB Justin Durant (groin) is out; G Justin Smiley (head) is doubtful and WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) is questionable. Sims-Walker participated fully in practice Friday.
