Anthony Scaramucci explains rant against Priebus, Bannon: ‘I sometimes use colorful language’

Anthony Scaramucci, the incoming White House communications director, on Thursday night did not back down from his scorching rant against Reince Priebus, President Trump’s chief of staff, and leakers.

Responding to a New Yorker story that quoted Scaramucci telling a reporter that Priebus is a “fucking paranoid schizophrenic,” Scaramucci tweeted that he sometimes uses “colorful language” and while he won’t stop fighting for Trump, he will try to hold back on the profanity.

“I sometimes use colorful language. I will refrain in this arena but not give up the passionate fight for @realDonaldTrump’s agenda,” Scaramucci said. “#MAGA.”

Earlier Thursday, New Yorker reporter Ryan Lizza published a first-person account of a conversation he had with Scaramucci on Wednesday night.

In the phone call, initiated by Scaramucci, he accused Priebus of leaking and suggested he may ask him to resign.

Scaramucci also threatened leakers.

“What I want to do is I want to fucking kill all the leakers and I want to get the President’s agenda on track so we can succeed for the American people,” Scaramucci told Lizza.

Scaramucci did not reserve his ire only for Priebus. He accused Steve Bannon, the White House chief strategist, of self-promoting himself.

“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock,” he said.

Sarah Sanders, the White House press secretary, said Thursday that Scaramucci should have used more appropriate language.

“This is a guy who sometimes uses colorful and in many circles probably not appropriate language,” Sanders said on Fox News. “He’s very passionate about the president and the president’s agenda, and I think he may have let that get the best of him.”
