Police: Man arrives at Obama speech with gun in car
A Falls Church man was taken into custody outside the U.S. Capitol during President Obama’s speech after police found a shotgun in his car, authorities said. Joshua Bowman drove up to a security checkpoint near the Cannon House Office Building on Wednesday night and told U.S. Capitol Police officers he wanted to park. The timing of the request raised an officer’s suspicion and led to a search of the 28-year-old’s car, a police spokeswoman said. Inside they found an unregistered shotgun and ammunition.
