D.C. Republicans ready ‘Trump dumpster fire’ celebration

Washington’s #NeverTrump Republicans have set an Election Day victory party to cheer the GOP nominee’s defeat, they hope.

In a Facebook post, the group said it would meet at Lincoln, about four blocks from the White House.

“The bar is arranging for multiple TVs, so we can watch the Trump dumpster fire burn itself out across all of the major networks, and there will be drink specials with candidate themes,” said the group.

About 500 are expected at the restaurant and bar well known for its signature drinks such as the Gettysburg Address, Emancipation Punch and Lincoln Sour.

The post:

Please join your fellow #NeverTrump Republicans (and some friends from across the aisle) on election night to celebrate the end of this historically-awful campaign season and the electoral repudiation of Donald Trump and all he represents.

To honor the GOP’s once and future values, we will be gathering to watch the election night results at Lincoln bar and restaurant at 1110 Vermont Avenue NW.

The bar is arranging for multiple TVs, so we can watch the Trump dumpster fire burn itself out across all of the major networks, and there will be drink specials with candidate themes.

Please invite friends or family to join us as well, but ask them to RSVP if they plan to attend, so we can ensure the bar has sufficient staff and libations on hand.

We look forward to celebrating a brighter future for our nation and the Republican Party with you.
