Eleven area police officers were recently recognized for their efforts to reduce drunk driving in the region.
The Washington Regional Alcohol Program presented its yearly awards to officers who worked to get impaired drivers off the roads.
The officers were Greg Holden of Alexandria police, Avery Carroll of Arlington County police, Joseph Woloszyn of Fairfax County police, Katie Baldwin of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Darwin R. Bennett of Maryland State Police, Alexander Pope of D.C. police, Gary Finch of Montgomery County police, Mark Phillips of Prince George’s County police, Jeremy Schenck of Prince William County police, Christopher Gogarty of the U.S. Park Police and Michael S. Middleton of the Virginia State police.
The award recipients “represent the front lines inthe fight against drunk driving in greater Washington,” said WRAP President Kurt Gregory Erickson.
