W.R. Grace & Co., a Columbia-based supplier ofcatalysts to petroleum and plastic companies, announced that it has had a second facility earn membership into the Voluntary Protection Program of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Earning the highest level of membership in the VPP, Grace?s Edison, N.J., facility was awarded the most recent honor, with Grace?s Lake Charles, La., plant previously winning the award.
In order to qualify for the recognition, injury rates must be lower than 50 percent when compared with industry averages. At Edison, the facility has not had a lost-time injury in more than 25 years.
