The long-awaited job fair for the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, the centerpiece of the multi-billion dollar National Harbor waterfront community in Prince George’s County, kicks off tomorrow and runs through Saturday at the resort.
The 2,000-room, 470,000-square-foot resort, set to open in April, is preparing to hire 1,400 employees now and another 600 by summer.
Prince George’s County officials have said the 300-acre National Harbor project will provide a big boost to the county’s ailing economy and they have pointed to the hiring of local workers as the beginning of the turnaround, with the job fair representing the first step.
The fair is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the resort Wednesday through Saturday. Parking is available at the Rosecroft Raceway with a shuttle to the resort.
