Peacock Cafe hosting ‘Mad Men’ party

Washingtonians obsessed with AMC’s “Mad Men” now have an outlet if they feel like putting on a skinny tie or slipping into a hip-hugging Joan Holloway-esque sheath. Georgetown eatery Peacock Cafe is hosting a “Mad Men” themed dinner next week, with proceeds going to a Shoot for Change scholarship at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at the American Ballet Theatre. Fashion photographer Walter Grio started Shoot for Change back in 2006, donating all the proceeds of his fashion shoots to a charity of his client’s choice. Party attendees, who should wear their best “Mad Men” era gear, will be photographed by Grio with photos posted to his website Fashiontographer. Peacock will be serving a three-course 1960s inspired meal as part of the party, dishing out Oysters Rockefeller, Beef Wellington and more. The event is May 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $60 and reservations can be made by calling (202) 625-2740.
