The Minnesota Timberwolves fired coach Kurt Rambis on Tuesday.
You mean he wasn’t already gone?
Apparently president of basketball operations David Kahn needed three months to mull over the decision.
During that time, several possible coaching candidates found jobs and Kahn was keeping Rambis out of all team decisions, including the introduction of point guard Ricky Rubio and the NBA Draft.
Rambis didn’t exactly deserve to keep his job after going 32-132 during his two seasons with the team, but Kahn’s hesitation is puzzling to say the least.
The whole summer it seemed inevitable that Minnesota would part ways with Rambis.
A young talented core of players — Rubio, Kevin Love, Michael Beasley, Wesley Johnson and Derrick Williams — is left with a mess of an organization.
