The BBC projects that the United Kingdom has voted to leave the European Union, as are other media outlets:

The forecasted final result, according to the BBC, is that Leave will win 52 percent of the vote in Thursday’s referendum, with Remain earning 48 percent of the vote.
Public polling in the final days of the campaign suggested Remain had edged ahead of Leave slightly, though nearly 10 percent of those polled said they remained undecided just a day before the vote.
Prime Minister David Cameron, who actively supported the Remain campaign, will possibly resign his leadership position within the Conservative party. That would open the door to his chief rival in the party, the Leave-supporting Boris Johnson, to take over as Tory leader and prime minister.
