May 2: Hills of Cabin John Cross Country, Potomac, 8 a.m. The 5K takes runners through the woods and trails of Cabin John Regional Park. Info: mcrrc.org.
SWIMMING & TRIATHLON
May 2: Nanticoke Triathlon, Bivalve, Md. The Nanticoke River Swim & Triathlon Association holds this open-water swim and triathlon early in the season. It is a sprint triathlon, with an 0.8K swim, 24.14k bike and 4.99k run. Swimmers can choose between a 3-mile and a half-mile swim. The water temperature is expected to be 62.
