Weekly Examiner: Obama’s ISIS strategy

President Obama on Wednesday made a prime-time address to the nation detailing his plan for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. Obama laid out a four-point plan for the terrorist organization promising to degrade and ultimately destroy the Islamic State through a “comprehensive and sustained counterterrorism strategy.”

Congress got back to work this week after a five-week summer recess, and members were immediately called into action by Obama, who is asking for their support to arm Syrian rebels to help with the Islamic State.

This week marked the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Memorial ceremonies were held all across the country on Thursday to mark the solemn occasion.
