A missing 3-month-old girl was reunited with her mother early Saturday after a police search and investigation Friday night.
The baby went missing after her mother gave her to a woman she knew, Chabria Murphy, 19, at the Anacostia Metro station around 10:30 a.m. Murphy was supposed to return with the child around 3 p.m., but didn’t show up.
Metro Transit Police and the Metropolitan Police Department began a search for the child, a black female wearing diamond stud earrings and a pink T-shirt.
Police reported that Murphy finally returned to the station around 1:40 a.m. Saturday with the baby, who was unharmed.
Police are still investigating the incident.
