President Obama’s subordinates have raised “allegations” with the Chinese government over evidence that a Chinese firm has violated international sanctions by assisting North Korea with missile technology.

“We’ve raised the allegations with the Chinese government that you mentioned as part of the ongoing — our ongoing close consultations on North Korea,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed today during the White House briefing.
He was responding to a reporter who noted that “a Chinese manufacturer, Hubei Sanjiang, has been implicated in supplying parts for a large missile transporter vehicle that Pyongyang [capitol of North Korea] showcased in its military parade last week.”
China has called for “dialogue and communication” between North Korea and the outside world, even as North Korea engages in increasingly provocative acts.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta refused to discuss the allegations last week, beyond saying that “clearly there’s been assistance along those lines” during a House hearing.
