The Weekly Standard got a solicitation in the mail the other day from Prospect magazine—an estimable journal of politics and the arts, but edited and published in London, as the cover letter made abundantly clear.

In the usual computerized fashion, it was addressed to ‘Philip Terzian/Lit Ed’ and the salutation said ‘Dear Mr. Ed’—an inadvertent error that no American editor, especially one who is aware that ‘a horse is a horse, of course, of course,’ would ever let pass.
