Hillary Clinton said on Twitter that she “mourns” the police officers in Dallas who were shot by snipers in the midst of protests Thursday night. The presumptive Democratic nominee for president tweeted her message Friday morning:
I mourn for the officers shot while doing their sacred duty to protect peaceful protesters, for their families & all who serve with them. -H

President Obama in a statement early Friday called the attacks on police officers, five of whom were slain, “despicable.”
