A female escort and her male partner, both from Centreville, were arrested Sept. 3 for allegedly defrauding and assaulting clients in various Fairfax County hotels and motels.
Wendy K. Kopach, 37, and Carl E. Worthy, 38, pulled off the fraud in at least 12 cases since December 2007, police said. In each instance, the client called an escort service, met Kopach at a motel and paid her. After receiving the money, Kopach fled the scene without “providing her services,” according to a Fairfax County Police Department news release. Worthy used an expandable baton, similar to police batons, to attack victims if they chased Kopach, police said. None of the injuries was critical.
The two face three counts of obtaining money by false pretense and two counts of malicious wounding. Police are still investigating the cases and expect to file more charges.
