Nearly 100 days into his presidency, Donald Trump says he thought being commander in chief “would be easier.”
During a wide-ranging interview with Reuters on Thursday, Trump said, “I loved my previous life. I had so many things going.”
Before becoming a presidential candidate, Trump was a longtime businessman who also dabbled in reality television with his “Apprentice” series.
“This is more work than in my previous life,”‘ he added. “I thought it would be easier.”
Trump’s 100th day in office will be on Saturday, when he will hold a rally in Harrisburg, Pa.
He’s been hard pressed to get a big legislative victory under his belt during that time, but that doesn’t seem likely with an Obamacare repeal deal again being set aside Thursday in Congress. Trump’s repeated attempts at a travel ban have been gummed up in the courts. He has, however, enacted quite a few executive actions to undo regulations initiated by his predecessor and launched a missile strike against Syria in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack on civilians.
Trump said during the campaign last April that “being presidential is easy.”
