A recent Gallup poll found that Congress ranks last (10%) among U.S. institutions. That ranking may have dropped further after Wednesday’s vicious fight between Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. The bad blood between the two spilled freely after Pelosi rejected two of McCarthy’s recommendations for seats on the select bipartisan House committee investigating the Capitol riots of Jan. 6. As Doug McKelway reports, the public may now be left with the findings of two partisan committees, neither providing a full accounting of what led up to and transpired that day.
