Jim Webb, traffic cop

U.S. Sen. Jim Webb has taken on Vietnamese Communists, Burmese tyrants and a sitting president.

This time, it’s personal.

The Democratic junior Senator from Virginia says in a letter to D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty that he’s tired of all this traffic on the National Mall.

“It is not unusual for my constituents to spend more than one hour trying to pass through the Mall area on a spring afternoon,” Webb wrote.

He wants Fenty to create more parking spaces and drop-off sites for buses. He also wants local cops to start writing more traffic tickets.

Something tells me Webb doesn’t often have to ask twice for anything.
