Ready for White House garden tours?

This year’s Spring Garden Tours at the White House will have a lot of visitors on the South Lawn viewing the gorgeous blooms in the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden and the Rose Garden, but it will also include self-guided tours of first lady Michelle Obama’s famous Kitchen Garden — which was recently replanted for Spring with potatoes, onions, bok choy, lettuces, spinach and carrots. Visitors are invited to stop by on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — but tickets will be required for all attendees. The National Park Service will give out free, timed tickets on a first-come-first-serve basis at the Ellipse Visitor Pavilion located at 15th and E Streets on each tour day beginning at 8 a.m. The tours may be canceled in the case of inclement weather, so guests are encouraged to call the 24-hour information line at 202-456-7041 to check on the status of the event.
