NBC’s Saturday primetime coverage of the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games begins at 8 p.m. ET/PT. With medals already under their belts, Lindsey Vonn, Apolo Ohno and Shani Davis compete in primetime to take home a medal for the second time this Olympics.
Ohno could become the most decorated U.S. Winter Olympic athlete ever if he wins a medal in the men’s speed skating 1000m gold medal final, live in primetime. After winning the silver medal in the men’s speed skating 1500m on Tuesday, his sixth Olympic medal, Apolo Ohno tied Bonnie Blair as the most decorated U.S. Winter Olympic athlete in history.
Lindsey Vonn will compete in the women’s alpine skiing Super G as one of the favorites to win another gold medal. Vonn is the current world champion in this event. USA’s Julia Mancuso, who has already won two silver medals this Olympics, also competes in the women’s Super G to continue her medal run.
Shani Davis, who won gold in the men’s speed skating 1000m Wednesday, will compete live in primetime in the men’s speed skating 1500 gold medal final. Davis is the current 1500m world record holder, reigning world champion and the favorite to win gold.
Also in primetime, two man bobsled competition.
NBC DAYTIME:
Daytime includes live coverage of two gold medal final events: the men’s cross-country 30km pursuit gold medal final and the ski jumping individual K125 gold medal final. Also in daytime, women’s freestyle skiing aerials competition, live.
NBC LATENIGHT:
Late night includes the women’s short track 1500m gold medal final and coverage of the medal presentations and musical performances from the medal ceremonies.
CABLE:
MSNBC coverage includes live men’s ice hockey and curling. In curling, Team USA takes on Sweden. In hockey, Switzerland faces off against Norway and Slovakia takes on Latvia. CNBC has a double dose of live curling with the women of Team USA going up against Great Britain and in the men’s competition, Great Britain challenging Canada.
