CNN’s Chris Cuomo hits MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ as ‘partisans’ who go too far

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo labeled two of his competitors at MSNBC, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski of “Morning Joe,” as “partisans” who at times are “going too far” in their criticism of President Trump’s White House.

“Partisans going too far like this allow an escape hatch for Rudy/Trump,” Cuomo said on Twitter, referring to Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani who said Sunday that a president cannot be indicted without first being impeached by Congress. “Rudy never said [Trump] can kill. He was taking [sic] about process of removing [the president]. Impeachment first. By going too far you lose high ground that Rudy should never have used that example. Stick to truth!”

Giuliani had said that if Trump “shot” former FBI Director James Comey, the president would still need to be impeached before he could be charged with a crime.

On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” the next day, Scarborough and Brzezinski seemed to interpret Giuliani’s comments literally.

“Rudy Giuliani, on behalf of the president of the United States, said that the president of the United States could assassinate an FBI director who is investigating him and not face indictment,” Scarborough said.
