A Baltimore father died Thursday after he was shot in his North Baltimore home as his family was held up in another part of the house, police said.
Darryl Lang, 38, was outside his home in the area of the 4500 block of Marble Hall Road with one of his children shortly before midnight when a group of armed men came up to them and forced them back inside, demanding money, police said.
Lang was assaulted as his family was taken to another section of the house, police said.
Lang was held in the dining room and shot multiple times, police said.
Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident. A teenager who lives down the street from the home said she was surprised the murder happened on the tree-lined street of red brick row houses and gardens.
“Marble Hall is not like that,” said Tanisha Jackson, 13, who was standing at her front door and visiting with another girl on the porch. “It?s normally a quiet neighborhood.”
