Trump to Pelosi: Thanks for not impeaching me, but I ‘never did anything wrong’

President Trump said Wednesday that he hasn’t done anything that deserves impeachment, after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she wouldn’t take that step.

“I greatly appreciate Nancy Pelosi’s statement against impeachment, but everyone must remember the minor fact that I never did anything wrong, the Economy and Unemployment are the best ever, Military and Vets are great – and many other successes!” Trump tweeted.

“How do you impeach a man who is considered by many to be the President with the most successful first two years in history, especially when he has done nothing wrong and impeachment is for ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’?” he asked.

Pelosi, D-Calif., said impeaching Trump isn’t worthwhile because it would only divide the country. But that left some liberal Democrats saying they were still interested in the idea.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., said she would still push ahead with an impeachment resolution against Trump, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said she also disagrees with Pelosi’s plan.

Another Democrat, Rep. Brad Sherman of California, said continuing to push for impeachment would help Democrats “limit what this president would do.”
