Fans of Ocean City boardwalk want more of the same

The plan to refurbish the Ocean City boardwalk drew opinions from around the world. Responses to a month-long, online poll came from 2,000 cities and more than 25 countries.

Fifty-one percent of respondents said the deteriorating wooden boardwalk should be replaced with a wooden one. Thirty-four percent of voters chose wood with a concrete train lane down the center that would be stamped and colored to look like wood, and 15 percent said all concrete would be the best option.

Wood is the most expensive option, and the city council has not decided what materials will be used. Concrete is the least expensive option.
