Md. man pleads guilty to killing girlfriend, officer

A 30-year-old Western Maryland man pleaded guilty to killing his girlfriend and the police officer who tried to arrest him.

Douglas Wayne Pryor, of Smithsburg, admitted in Montgomery County Circuit Court on Friday to fatally stabbing Alison Munson and then shooting Smithsburg officer Christopher Nicholson in 2007.

Pryor also pleaded guilty to four counts of attempted first-degree murder of four law enforcement officers. Pryor agreed to six consecutive life sentences, including two of life without parole.

Munson, 31, the mother of Pryor’s children, was found dead in her home. Police said Pryor then fatally shot Nicholson, 25, who was waiting for backup to arrest him.
